SANTA’S GIFT quilt: Kona Cotton version
I’m excited to finally release it as a stand-alone quilt pattern. I originally made it for Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine two years ago. It was my first one and it was an absolute pleasure to make the pattern for them. And it made a cover!

I didn’t change the layout of the quilt so it’s going to be the same large throw size but I added advice on cutting parts to make each single block. You can choose to make a large throw or a single block from the star, heart, checkerboard and ribbon.
The finished block size measures at 13” x 13”. You may enjoy making some quilted items like cushion cover, placemat, wall hanging etc.

For the cover quilt, I used five colors from Kona Cotton from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. Of course I had to mix them up to create the scrappy look the way I love!
- Glacier
- Aqua
- Butterscotch
- Peony
- Punch
- White (background)
You can arrange the blocks as you desire. What I did was to have each block from the star, heart, checkerboard and ribbon for each row. After that, I've switched the blocks around to spread the colors.
Note: The photo above isn't my final layout. Just a process.
