EVERGREEN & JOLLY: Christmas version made with AGF Christmas in Color Collection

I had the privilege of working with AGF to create the cover quilt using Christmas in Color. As soon as I saw the images of the collection, I knew I wanted to make this quilt!

I love everything about this collection. The prints are so cute, and the colors are festive and perfect for the holiday season!

I wasn’t sure about the background fabric until I pieced everything together. When I worked on the mock-ups, I only knew the colors digitally, and I had never seen the fabric collection in person, except for the Pure Solids since I have the color cards.

  

 

I couldn’t stop thinking about the background color because I was worried it might be too close to Holiday Glow (Fabric 1) from the collection. As I mentioned, I had never seen the fabrics in person, so it was hard to tell how they would look together.

But I was so happy with how it turned out! The Pure Solids Zambia Stone was beautiful and did a wonderful job of showing off all the prints and colors.

  

  

As I mentioned in the back cover, non-directional fabrics work best for this project. The fabric requirements and cutting diagrams are designed with non-directional fabrics in mind. Although you can use directional fabrics, you may need to prepare a little extra fabric to be safe, especially when cutting and orienting the triangles.

Long-arm quilting by Erin of Cotton Candy Fabrics in Brookfield, Connecticut.

 Isn’t it pretty? I love how she quilted ornaments row by row. And the pink variegated thread! I love variegated threads and use them for quilting quite often. They just add a little extra character to a quilt.

 

 

This is one of my favorite holiday quilts, and I can’t wait to enjoy it!
